HUD Service Coordinator/CHSP Grant Extension

HUD issued this year’s guidance on applying for and approving one-year grant extensions of Service Coordinator (SC) and Congregate Housing Services Program (CHSP) grants. Grantee guidance can be found and downloaded here. 

Grant recipients can request extension funds if their grant term ends on or before December 31, 2013 and they will completely run out of money by that date.  Owners should submit requests to field staff 120 days before their grant completely runs out of money.

This year HUD is providing a 2.1% increase over last year’s grant amount.  For example, if a grantee received $50,000 in FY 2012, they are then eligible to receive up to $51,050 ($50,000 x 1.021 = $51,050).

 

Please note that Service Coordinator grantees must use any available residual receipts prior to receiving additional grant funds.  Residual receipts may be used to cover Service Coordinator program expenses prior to using them to offset HAP payments for new regulation projects.
