LeadingAge Washington has obtained confirmation that certified home care aides and long term care workers in assisted living communities continue to be required to obtain 12 hours of continuing education by their birthday each year.
With the recent adoption of permanent training regulations under 388-112 WAC there was some opportunity for interpretation of the requirement to mean that CEs would be able to be obtained annually based on a calendar year. This interpretation is NOT correct. The CE schedule, to repeat, is from birthday to birthday.
