As a result of passage of SB 5594 last session, and of importance to nursing homes, news rules are being promulgated related to employee handling of chemotherapy and other drugs. Aging Services of Washington is analyzing the proposal and will provide analysis and feedback to the Department of Labor and Industries as appropriate. The proposed rules amend Chapter 296.62 WAC, Occupational Health Standards.
Public comments may be shared at one of two public hearings, scheduled for November 28, 2011 in Tumwater and for December 1, 2011 in Spokane. You may also submit written comments to Bonnie Blachly at Aging Services of Washington no later than December 1, 2011.
