CMS is calling for improvement
in how antipsychotics are used in the treatment of nursing home residents with

Citing the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) black-box warning and the fact that these medications have been linked to adverse outcomes in nursing home populations, CMS Administrator Dr. Berwick asked stakeholders, including LeadingAge, to provide CMS with proposals for reducing the prevalence of these medications in the nursing home setting.
