CCRC Residents: Repeal of Imputed Interest Taxation is Forever

AAHSA has been informed that some CCRC members are hearing concerns from their residents related to imputed interest taxation on entrance fees.

The 2006 repeal of imputed interest taxation of continuing care retirement community entrance fees WAS NOT/IS NOT temporary; this tax relief IS NOT GOING TO EXPIRE. Repeal was accomplished in two stages; the first measure, passed in 2005, contained a temporary repeal of imputed interest taxation but the Tax Relief and Health Care Act (P.L. 109-432) permanently repealed imputed interest taxation. Please let your residents know if they raise this issue with you.
