Adult Day Funding Update

The President's proposed 2011 budget will improve funding for adult day programs under Medicaid by providing an additional $25.5 billion to extend Medicaid funding to the states from the Stimulus that would have ended in 2011. The President has made a commitment to help caregivers by adding $102.5 million for programs including adult day services that help caregivers care for their aging relatives. Adult day programs that receive funding through Older American's Act programs should see some improved funding in 2011. The Title III B Supportive services was increased 13% and the National Family caregiver programs were increased 31%. Adult Day Services funded through social services block grants will continue to struggle because of funding that remained at the 2010 level. We will advocate for increases in the Social Service Block Grants, and protect the proposed funding improvements for your adult day service programs.
